Train to own or professinally operate large, complex multihulls in demanding bluewater environments, and prepare for major international voyages — from ocean crossings to full circumnavigations. Build the sea time and exper needed to earn credentials such as the USCG Master, RYA Yachtmaster and join the ranks of truly unshakeable sailors.

What sets our culture apart is the expectation of active participation and accountability. These expeditions involve consequential passages that cover real ground and require real responsibility. Students are not observers—they are decision-makers. Weather routing, navigation, systems management, provisioning, passage planning, and onboard operations are all handled in real time as conditions change and challenges emerge.
The result is measurable development in both skill and judgment. Students leave not just with experience, but with demonstrated capability—earned through direct engagement with real offshore environments. This is where competence is built: through repetition, responsibility, and the consistent application of sound seamanship under way.

As a proud NauticEd training partner, we provide our students with access to one of the most advanced and innovative maritime education ecosystems available anywhere in the world. NauticEd has established itself as a global leader in sailing education through its pioneering use of online learning, virtual reality training, scenario-based instruction, and competency-based certification.
Today's sailors need more than classroom lectures and a few days on the water. They need a training system that combines theory, simulation, practical application, and real-world experience.
Through our partnership with NauticEd, students gain access to cutting-edge educational tools that extend far beyond traditional sailing school models.

Our Expeditions are designed to bridge the gap between theory and real-world experience. They provide structured pathways to develop practical seamanship through passage planning, navigation, sail handling, watch standing, vessel-to-vessel communication, offshore decision-making, systems management, docking, anchoring, and mooring in authentic cruising conditions.
These expeditions involve consequential passages that cover real ground and require real responsibility. You are an active participant in every stage of the voyage, making decisions and managing real-world conditions as they unfold. The result is tangible growth—not just as a sailor, but as a person—earned through accomplishing something real, demanding, and meaningful at sea.

Competent cruising also extends beyond the vessel itself. International sailors must navigate an increasingly complex landscape of visas, customs and immigration procedures, cruising permits, vessel documentation requirements, biosecurity regulations, and changing political and regulatory environments.
Understanding how to research, prepare for, and comply with these requirements is an important part of operating safely and responsibly around the world.
Students learn how to leverage modern tools to remotely monitor vessel systems and anchor alarms, research and evaluate anchorages and marinas, compare weather models and routing options, reserve moorings and marina berths, manage vessel maintenance, track offshore traffic, and make informed operational decisions. Just as importantly, they learn the limitations of these technologies and how to combine them with sound seamanship and judgment.
Competent global cruising also extends beyond operating the vessel itself. Modern sailors must navigate changing customs and immigration procedures, visas, cruising permits, vessel documentation requirements, and evolving regulatory and political environments. Understanding how to research, prepare for, and comply with these requirements is an essential part of responsible offshore cruising.
Our goal is not simply to teach sailors how to operate a boat. Our goal is to develop adaptable mariners who can confidently integrate modern technology, sound judgment, and practical seamanship to operate safely and competently anywhere in the world.

The oceans, vessels, technologies, regulations, and best practices of offshore sailing are constantly evolving. Competent sailors evolve with them. So does our training.
Our programs are iterative, objective-based, and continuously refined through real-world experience, operational feedback, and emerging developments in offshore sailing, weather routing, vessel systems, risk management, and international cruising requirements.
We embrace cutting-edge technologies and modern training methodologies (see VR docking training pic) to accelerate learning and improve competency.

Getting your first 40-foot-plus catamaran is exciting, but it can also be intimidating. These are sophisticated vessels with complex systems and significant operational responsibility. Confidence on a boat of this scale comes from structured, objective-based training tailored to your vessel, your experience level, and your cruising goals.
Our instructors can travel anywhere in the world to provide personalized, vessel-specific training aboard your boat. From systems onboarding and boat handling to passage planning and offshore operations, we help owners develop the skills and confidence needed to safely operate their catamaran in real-world conditions.
Training is also tailored to your area of operation. Mediterranean mooring in Greece, Gulf Stream crossings along the U.S. East Coast, or navigating the shallow waters of the Bahamas and Caicos Bank all require different skills, techniques, and decision-making processes. We prepare you for the environments where you actually intend to cruise.
Our measure of success is not the number of certificates earned, but the competence, confidence, and independence our students demonstrate when they take command of their own catamarans.

To date, NauticEd is the only global sailing education body to be recognized as meeting these high standards by ensuring competence across the board with comprehensive theory knowledge, on-the-water skills assessment, and an appropriate amount of on-the-water experience prior to certification.
Catamaran Training instructors and assessors adhere to these standards.
